CBD Dog Health, a leading holistic pet wellness company, announced today the induction of a new Board of Advisors. CBD Dog Health has witnessed significant momentum in the last couple of years, with a growing range of Full Spectrum Hemp CBD oil infused products for pets, and these holistic industry leaders will help guide the company through its next stage of growth.  

Meet Our Board of Advisors

CBD Dog Health has enlisted holistic experts from the veterinary and pet health industry to join our founder and medical cannabis expert, Angela Ardolino, and our Chief Veterinary Officer, Dr. Zac Pilossoph, to serve in an advisory capacity on the development of safe and effective cannabis products and educational resources for pet parents. Our Board of Advisors will help ensure that our CBD products continue to be based on the most up-to-date information, including clinical trials, research and expert medical opinion.

Dr. Josie Beug Headshot Dr. Josie Beug

Dr. Josie Beug, DVM CVA, specializes in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine among other healing modalities. She has had a thriving holistic house call practice in South Florida for over 20 years and is an instructor at The Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. She is a lifelong student of the healing arts, from herbs to oils to energy to stones, integrating ancient knowledge with modern medicine to help her patients live longer, healthier, happier lives. Dr. Beug specializes in geriatric care, chronic disease, and in-home hospice care. She is also a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association (AHVMA).

Dr. PJ Broadfoot, DVM, specializes in the nutritional aspects of healing, and started her own holistically oriented practice in Arkansas in 1982. Dr. Broadfoot has worked as a veterinary consultant for Heel, and has presented lectures on homotoxicology, deer antler, AFA and many other holistic treatments. She has also lectured internationally for the Vetri-Science Company, a recognized authority in the research and product development of high quality supplements for animals. Dr. Broadfoot has also served on the Board of the American Society of Bioregulatory Medicine (ASBRM), Registration of Alternative and Integrative Veterinary Education (RAIVE), and the College of Integrative Veterinary Techonologies (CIVT), as well as being a member of the AVMA, the Arkansas VMA, and the AHVMA.

Dr. Carlson believes in integrative medicine which combines traditional veterinary medicine with holistic veterinary care that allows her to focus on the whole patient and preventing illness. Nutritional counseling and natural allergy treatments are the primary ways she incorporates holistic medicine into our traditional veterinary practice. She is certified thru the CHI institute in Chinese veterinary food therapy, as a veterinary food therapist she uses the energetic properties of food to provide dietary therapy to patients. Additionally, Dr. Carlson is certified in Chinese herbal medicine, Veterinary Acupuncture, and Veterinary Medical Manipulation.

Krysta Fox is an experienced Veterinary Technician, a career inspired by her own beloved pug’s medical issues. With her years of experience working in traditional, holistic, and integrative practices, working alongside some of the most gifted practitioners in the industry, her varied experiences have played a key part in expanding her knowledge of veterinary medicine. She has also previously taken on several roles within the industry, including the manufacture and sales of raw pet food as well as consulting on animal health and nutrition. With her combined veterinary and pet industry knowledge, she can effectively help almost anyone she comes across in some way regarding their pets’ health.

Billy Hoekman is Vice President of Nutrition and Communication for Green Juju. He is involved in formulation, product development, science education, and sales and marketing. He participates frequently in expert panels and speaks nationally and internationally in venues ranging from universities and conferences to public libraries. He also serves on the board of directors for Royal Animal Health University, attends Association of American Feed Control Officials meetings, and has published numerous articles. He is a trusted pet health advocate who specializes in turning hard to understand nutrition concepts into plain English.

Rita Hogan is a clinical canine herbalist with over 18 years of experience, specializing in Holistic Canine Herbalism. She is an herbal clinician, educator, speaker, writer, formulator and energy healer. Rita uses a combination of diet, flower essences, herbs and phytoembryonic therapies in her full-time clinical practice based in Olympia, Washington. She has worked with expert healers and elder herbalists to further her own knowledge, and is a canine herbalism and cannabis educator.

Jae Kennedy and Adrienne Lefebvre, The Two Crazy Cat Ladies™, are cat advocates, social media influencers, bloggers and content creators. Dr. Ruth Roberts, DVM, has become one of the nation’s foremost experts in holistic and integrative veterinary medicine, in her 30 year career. Dr. Roberts began her career in 1990, practicing traditional, Western medicine. The onset of simultaneous health challenges for both her and her dog Arnold, however, prompted her to further her education by studying Eastern Veterinary Medicine at the Chi Institute in Florida. She is certified in Acupuncture, Chinese Herbology and Food Therapy. In 2006, Dr. Roberts founded The Original Crockpot Diet and continues to see the dramatic results it makes in the health of her patients. She is a leading consultant in integrative veterinary medicine and advises clients via e-learning, videos on a range of health topics, and One on One coaching.

Dr. Paul Rowan, DVM, has been practicing for 53 years – 30 of them in conventional practice and the past 23 years in alternative care. Dr. Rowan trained at the Animal Medical Center in New York City as an intern and surgical resident, followed by Mt. Sinai Medical Center as a Fellow in Cardiothoracic Surgery. He opened the very first facility to treat only feline disease in NYC. In 1999, Dr. Rowan started The Center for Animal Healing, a Virginia Beach Pet Wellness Center, as a compassionate wellness practice focused on chiropractic care, homeopathy, microcurrent therapy & cold laser therapy, whole food nutrition and a non-toxic environment.

Sarah Urban, DVM, is a certified Canine Rehabilitation Practioner (CCRP), certified in Mixed Animal Acupuncture (CVA) from the Chi Institute, certified in Veterinary Spinal Manipulation Therapy (cVSMT), and certified in Veterinary Food Therapy. Currently, she is working on a Master’s program in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine from the Chi Institute. She is a member of the College of Animal Chiropractors, Inc. (CoAC). Her special interests include canine and equine sports medicine, nutrition, applied kinesiology, and integrative cancer therapies. Dr. Urban wants all clients to feel enabled and empowered in their decisions that they make for their animal companions. Dr. Urban’s business Enabled Integrative Veterinary Services is an integrative mobile veterinary practice that brings services right to your doorstep. She is currently seeing new patients in York, Adams, Berks, Lancaster, and other surrounding counties.
