“My Rottweiler has had surgery to repair his CCL 5 years ago. He has arthritis as a result. 2 weeks ago, I thought I was going to have to put him down. He fell down the stairs, now I keep him on 1 level. He wouldn’t go out unless I forced him to. The vet put him on Deramax with little relief. Now, with the CBD, my boy is running, jumping off my bed, and manipulating the stairs.” – Lynn C. Verified Buyer

CBD significantly decreases pain and increases mobility in animals with OA
The Baylor College of Medicine recently produced a study that sought to determine the effects of using CBD oil to treat dogs suffering from osteoarthritis.
This groundbreaking study, entitled, “A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study of daily cannabidiol for the treatment of canine osteoarthritis pain” was conducted of a Double Blind Placebo Test. In this type of test, veterinarians do not know which patients are receiving the real CBD oil and which are receiving a placebo containing none of the active ingredients known to treat arthritis. This way, there is no possibility of human bias getting in the way by skewing the results.
In the veterinary study, CBD significantly decreased pain and increased mobility in a dose-dependent fashion among animals with an affirmative diagnosis of OA. This study supports the safety and therapeutic potential of hemp-derived CBD for relieving arthritic pain and suggests follow-up investigations in humans are warranted.
On average 70% of dogs over the age of seven suffer from some form of arthritis or joint pain. While most are prescribed NSAID’s to mask this pain, these drugs are extremely damaging to use long term.
CBD is an all natural way to support your dogs as they grow into their golden years. Now with the growing research confirming what we know about CBD and joint pain, it’s a no brainer!
Full Spectrum Hemp extract is great for reducing pain. Cannabis has been used as an analgesic dating back thousands of years. One of the ways it does this is by changing the way their central nervous system communicates the sensation of pain to our brains. Not only does CBD help manage pain on a naturopathic level, but it also stops the physical conditions that cause pain.
Inflammation
CBD and the other compounds found in a full spectrum hemp extract are known to reduce inflammation throughout the body. In many cases, the pain that our arthritic dogs feel is a direct result of the inflammation in their joints. When we soothe that inflammation, we are treating the cause of the problem and also preventing the hurt.

No, your pet will not get high from CBD Dog Health’s products. Our CBD oil comes from the hemp plant, which contains less than 0.3% THC. THC is the psychoactive part of the cannabis plant that most people associate with feeling “high”. Cannabinoids in our CBD oil for dogs and cats, including cannabidiol (CBD), will not cause psychoactive effects or a “high” feeling, but will cause a feeling of calm.
What is hemp?
“Hemp” is the non-psychoactive version of cannabis that has clear benefits as a superfood. In 2003, the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) patented the cannabinoids found in hemp as “antioxidants and neuroprotectants.”
Hemp has less than 1% of THC, the psychoactive component in the marijuana plant. Hemp oil and hemp seed oil have immense health benefits are often used to help the body shrink tumors, ease aches, and calm anxiety. While the FDA prohibits us from making claims about CBD oil benefits, you can read more about the hemp plant here: https://cbddoghealth.com/what-is-hemp-cbd/.
Is hemp legal?
Yes! Hemp oil is legal in all 50 states, and thanks to the 2018 Farm bill, hemp is being grown in 40 states.
Marijuana is not legal in all 50 states because it contains higher amounts of THC. Hemp is different from marijuana because it has a lower amount of THC (the psychoactive compound associated with feeling “high”). While both hemp and marijuana are part of the cannabis plant family, hemp has less than 0.3% THC, but has larger quantities of other effective compounds (called cannabinoids), like CBD.
Why CBD Dog Health?
CBD Dog Health products are formulated specifically for pets by Angela Ardolino, a medical cannabis expert, under the advisement of chemists and veterinarians.
Our CBD products are made with American-grown hemp rather than using industrialized hemp oil from other countries. Additionally, CBD Dog Health products are full-spectrum CBD rich-hemp extracts – not isolate, distillate, or products labeled “pure CBD” or “No THC.” Full-spectrum means that no cannabinoids were removed during the extraction or manufacturing process. Our CBD oils include numerous cannabis compounds, including a small amount of THC (0.3% or less).
CBD Dog Health products contain NO toxic thinning agents, like propylene glycol or ethylene glycol, and do NOT contain any flavor additives or harmful ingredients. The essential oils used in CBD Dog Health products are pure, sourced organically in the U.S., and our CBD-rich products are derived from high-resin cannabis grown sustainably in accordance with the certified regenerative organic standards.
Pet owners know exactly what they are getting with CBD Dog Health products. Our bottles indicate the amount of CBD and hemp oil per serving – not just the total cannabinoid content for the entire bottle. We don’t expect our customers to blindly trust us — rather, we are here to prove to you how much we care for your pet and their wellbeing.
Can my dog overdose?
Your pet cannot overdose on full spectrum hemp extract (CBD) oil. It is perfectly safe to administer as much full spectrum hemp extract (CBD) as you need to until you see results. The worst that can happen is that your pet may get diarrhea or may become sleepy if you administer more than needed.
Every pet is different and some pets require more CBD than others. Check out our dosing guidelines to learn more about the proper starting point by ailment.
How do I administer CBD oil?
For the fastest and most thorough absorption, lift the lip and apply dose directly onto the gums, as the most direct way into the bloodstream. If added to food, the medicine may not be as effective and can take significantly longer (30-45 min.) to reach the bloodstream as it works its way through the gastrointestinal system.
