This week, our retailer spotlight is on a grooming shop that not only works hard to give every dog her day, but aims to do so with luxury and style. Located in Delray Beach, FL, Lap of Luxury Dog Spa has become well-known for their talented team and the level of pampering that each pet receives from the moment they walk in the door. Owned by celebrity groomer Jonathan David, Lap of Luxury Dog Spa carries a wide variety of products (including CBD Dog Health) and operates in a beautiful, state-of-the-art facility.
David (who recently endorsed CBD Dog Health products) took some time to give us a little insight into his inspiration behind Lap of Luxury Dog Spa, and to share the secret to his success.
Q: What was the inspiration behind lap of luxury?
A: Lap of Luxury Dog Spa is a place where dogs can come to be pampered. Because we are behind all glass, the owners can be at ease knowing that their dogs are being cared for safely and are being handled professionally. I wanted to create a place that would completely put dogs and their owners at ease.
Q: What is your favorite thing about working with animals?
A: I [feel that] animals give unconditional love and they need to be cared for. In this crazy and chaotic world that we live in, at the end of the day to come home to someone who needs you is so special. The relationship you have with your pet is different from any other relationship in your life. That bond is so important and special.
Q: What would you say is your favorite thing about your team at Lap of Luxury?
A: My favorite thing about my team is that everyone actually works as a team. We believe that everyone, from the person who does the bathing to the prepping to the actual styling, is an equally important part of the grooming. Because without a great prep you don’t have a great cut, and vise versa. The team environment is my favorite part as well as everyone’s willingness to learn and grow within our industry.
Q: Do you have any suggestions for retailers or other groomers to help them improve their retail sales?
A: Keep your store looking fresh. The most important thing is merchandising. If something is not moving when it is in a particular part of the store, move it to another area of the store to help highlight it. You have to be hands-on. You have to share your suggestions and give your feedback and that will improve your sales.
Q: Anything else you’d like to share?
A: We are a top-notch, state-of-the-art salon and we believe in giving the best that we can to the pets that we have while we have them. We do this for them.
