CBD Dog Health Visits Answers Pet Food
CBD Dog Health and Answers have a strong central focus in education. Both of our industries are viewed skeptically due to stigma and fear. With education, and by combined efforts, we can change the CBD and nutrition world. With education comes a ripple effect. One person is educated, who transfers their knowledge to the next, and so on. We are proud to be on the road to helping dogs live healthier lives together.
Update: Why We No Longer Recommend Answers Pet Food and our friend Billy Hoekman on Plant Food & Nutrition
Billy Hoekman, Answers, And CBD Dog Health
Angela Ardolino first met Billy Hoekman (Nutrition Director at Answers Pet Food) at a party hosted by ‘The Two Crazy Cat Ladies’ in Las Vegas during Superzoo. It so happens that this is the same party where I met Rodney Habib leading us to create an incredible CBD education video together.
Billy and I began chatting at the party and realized we both had similar mindsets regarding the importance of a healthy diet, including hemp. It’s always so encouraging to find like minded people with incredible intentions to help animals thrive! And this is where our journey together began.
Since this point, we have been attending seminars together educating veterinarians, pet stores, and pet parents about the benefits of raw feeding and CBD.
He uses our products here from CBD Dog Health and we are proud to use Answers as well. All of our dogs eat Answers Pet Food to ensure optimal health and well-being.
Billy once said he doesn’t give his dog, Lua, any supplements. “It’s all food,” he stated. And, he considered CBD to be a plant food. And, he’s completely right. Mr. Hoekman explained the story:
“We were working with our local vet because Lua had a minor biceps injury. She recommended that we make some changes at home and consider CBD to help with her healing. So I reached out to Angela and we started with a higher dosage of the HEAL tincture and it worked. It was funny at first because she was just in bed staring at the wall … but then she was running and galloping and feeling great. She wasn’t worried about the pain and recovering. Once we knew she was feeling well, with your [Angela Ardolino] guidance we were able to find the right maintenance dose. I don’t use supplements but I do use foods for healing … and I like that CBD is a food medicine we’ve been able to add.”
In the video below, you can see him talking about Lua and our HEAL tincture.
Billy Hoekman also appeared as a guest on Angela Ardolino’s podcast, ‘It’s a Dog’s Life.’ In the podcast, they discussed why you should add fermented raw milk to your dog’s diet, the challenges with natural health products in today’s market, and the health benefits of raw, fresh food with cannabis medicine. The Farm Tour
According to Billy Hoekman, Answers now has:
- 24 goat farms
- A duck farm for our eggs and meat
- Two farms that produce our cow’s milk
Their pastured birds are not chemically treated like many others. Answers also uses gap rate meat that’s audited by Global Animal Partnership. Their beef is 100% grass-fed to ensure maximum nutrient density. And, they grow as many vegetables as possible to be fermented. Their goal for the future is to source even more ingredients on their own, but this is definitely a powerful start.
Fermentation at Answers
Answers is proud to hold high standards in the quality of their whole foods. They are also the only fermented raw pet food available on the market. Their products are made without the use of toxic pesticides, artificial additives, antibiotics, and aren’t genetically modified. Their formulas provide enhanced nourishment through fermentation without freeze-drying or dehydration.
Why Fermentation?
In order for our pet’s gut to remain healthy, the good bacteria need to be in balance. At Answers, they discovered bacteria is the one ingredient that is missing from every pet food. Every product at Answers has good bacteria added to help pre-digest the food resulting in a more effective digestion process. The good bacteria also create additional vitamins, organic acids, and enzymes that aren’t found in other foods.
Not only are the good bacteria helpful with digestion, but they also inhibit the growth of bad bacteria in the gut. And, Answers products provide your pet with necessary probiotics to remain healthy. Combined Efforts
Veterinarians are not taught about the endocannabinoid system or about raw feeding. The primary nutrition course provided focuses on commercial diets by Hill’s Science Diet and Purina. Neither of our industries are regulated either, so it is our responsibility to put in the hard work and dedication to ensure everything is safe and effective for our clients.
That’s why we are both dedicated to ensuring all questions are answered, content is provided to as many readers as possible, and veterinarians are provided the opportunity to learn more about our holistic approaches.
